SHELBY LEATHER ONE POCKET WALLET

When Carroll Shelby passed away earlier this year, it was a sad day for any auto enthusiast (especially one hardcore into Mustangs). It also marked the passing of a man badass enough to not let having a girl’s name keep him down. Display some of that badassness with this one pocket wallet. Along with the Shelby Cobra emblem are the words spoken by Mr. Shelby back in 1965, “Ferrari’s ass is mine.” Each wallet is hand-crafted and perfect for storing some cards necessary for a night out. (Warning: This is an awful gift for the Ferrari fan in your life.)

4s1.jpg

The next generation of Porsche's next generation all wheel drive technology debuts in the 991 with the 2013 Carrera 4. Marked by that striking red LED-lit light strip, the new C4 is lighter than the previous generation but puts on more muscle with a wider track and a speedier ride. Speaking of speed, the car will hit 60 mph in 4.5s (4.7 in the cabrio) while the 4S hits 60 in just 4.1 (4.3 in the cabrio). Other new additions include an all-wheel-drive indicator, adaptive cruise control, and a sliding glass sunroof

Homage x Ebbets Field Flannels Cap

Columbus-based Homage recently teamed up with well-known Ebbets Field Flannels for their take on the classic baseball cap. McLaren Special Operations X-1 Concept

McLaren X-1

McLaren X-1
The Concours d’Elegance at Pebble Beach is always full of surprises and the McLaren X-1 Concept certainly qualifies as one. Built for an obviously wealthy and anonymous buyer, the X-1 Concept is a singular creation that utilizes the carbon monocell from the eminently capable McLaren MP4-12C and showcases what money and imagination unfettered can accomplish.
Inspiration for the design of the X-1 came from the 1961 Facel Vega, the 1953 Chrysler D’Elegance Ghia, the 1959 Buick Electra, the 1939 Mercedes-Benz 540K, and the 1971 Citroën SM. A design competition was subsequently held and McLaren’s own Hong Yeo won. Nearly three years later, the design was completed and the painstaking process of custom building the X-1 began. Nearly every aspect of the car is custom, apart from the base monocell structure, the beastly twin-turbo V8 engine and major mechanical components. The unique body panels are carbon and finished in gloss piano black, while some remain visible with a laquered carbon-fiber weave. All exposed metalwork is machined aluminum with a nickel finish. The interior is richly appointed in an appropriately contrasting Harissa Red McLaren Nappa leather, carbon fiber and aluminum.

The most unique aspect of the car is found in the retractable carbon fiber panels that cover the rear wheels, providing a futuristic approach to a stylistic element of yesteryear. Expect this custom job to drive like a true supercar, despite the increased dimensions. It remains light, fast and will surely be the envy of every filthy rich McLaren customer-to-be, who (upon reading this) will no doubt jump on their phones to dial in their own custom job to McLaren Spec Ops.

Mismo Spring/Summer 2013 Collection

In 2003, Rikke Overgaard and Adam Alexander Bach launched Mismo, a bag company that looked to deliver high quality goods that were crafted from top-notch materials and fitted with minimalistic detailing. They’ve certainly succeeded as the label’s gotten global recognition and some tremendous cosigns from several major publications. They’ve taken the covers off their S/S 2013 collection, one that’s just as promising as their first and there are some distinct differences from past collections, all of which we’re happy to see. Rikke and Adam have loosened up a bit for the summer months, giving us bags that are fitted with vibrant colors and playful prints.

Mismo’s original mustard yellow makes a strong return, accompanied by new floral and denim-inspired materials, and a handful of new bags. The new styles are actually some of the most versatile bags we’ve seen on the market, as they allow you to shift from office to gym to a weekend getaway with ease. There’s no real label to each, so you can grab the one you dig the most and mold it to your lifestyle.

The film also features Scoot McNairy (Monsters), Ben Mendelsohn (Animal Kingdom), Ray Liotta, Richard Jenkins (The Visitor), with James Gandolfini, Vincent Curatola, Max Casella and Sam Shepard among others."

Behind The Wheel: Porsche Cayman R

Porsche did the Boxster/Cayman rollout all backwards. The convertible was introduced prior to the hardtop and that’s typically not how things are done in the automotive industry (unless you’re the Dodge Viper SRT10/GTS). Let’s just say we’re glad because the wait for the Cayman was more than worth it because it brings us into a world where near-911 performance can be attained for thousands less. The Cayman R houses a mid-mounted, naturally aspirated 3.4 liter flat six engine that delivers 330 horsepower, 10 more than the very capable Boxster Spyder, the very car that gave rise to the Cayman R. And the Cayman R is easier to drive than a 911 due to its lightness and engine position, which lends to more neutral handling characteristics.

Bandit9 Nero Motorcycle

If Steve McQueen ever donned a mask and cape to fight crime à la Batman, we’d like to think that he’d ride something like this stealthy Nero bike from Bandit9 Motorcycle Design. This impressive bike is based on the classic Chang Jiang 750 from the 1950s and 60s, but features a rebuilt engine and transmission, along with a slew of custom parts like the exhaust, gas tank, fenders, seat, and bars. But most notable about the Nero, is its menacing matte black finish that leaves no aspect of the bike un-darkened, save for the headlight and taillight. Pricing and availability has yet to be announced.
